The eBay affiliate program is one that has performed well for me over the last few years, the vast amount of items on there means it can be used to refer people to pretty much anything you like - from web hosting to property. You can add relevant links to blog posts and articles, build extensive shopping portals or software applications and now - thanks to AuctionAds - even insert Adsense style contextual Ads featuring eBay auctions.
I tend to create links to eBay quite a lot and forgot how frustrating it was to figure it out to start with. A recent forum question reminded me and inspired me to write a guide to embellish on my reply.
Firstly, you will need a website to apply to the eBay affiliate programs on Commission Junction. I’m not going to go into the various ways of setting up a website now, but if you are completely new to this game then a Blogger blog is a quick and easy way to start, put up some content and you should be accepted by eBay. If you don’t want to apply to Commission Junction you could try AuctionAds instead.
Once accepted on one of the eBay affiliate programs (there are separate ones for different countries) you can easily create affiliate links to any eBay page:
You can enter anything you like as an SID - this is for your own tracking of campaigns and shows on the reports in Commission Junction. You might want to try AuctionAds instead - they give you a url convertor too and as they have an army of sub-affiliates are in the top bracket for CJ/eBay payments. They are currently paying out 100% of the commission so you will get more than going directly to Commission Junction, though you do lose the tracking that CJ provides.
Hope this is of use to anyone new to the eBay affiliate program, please comment to let me know.
